For the first time ever, the marketing industry is coming together to measure the current status of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in its workforce with a global survey. Twenty-seven countries, including Canada, are participating.
For progress to happen, we need to establish a baseline on this issue. The findings of the survey will be critical to informing a global and local action plan.
UPDATE: With over 5,000 responses globally and numbers rising by over 600 per day, the deadline for the first global DEI survey has been extended to the end of July. We want to let as many people in our industry have their say as part of this historic first in the marketing industry.
The global survey takes about 15 minutes and asks:
- How individuals identify themselves in terms of race, ethnicity, sexuality, etc.
- People’s experiences (sense of belonging, inclusiveness) at their companies.
All survey responses are totally anonymous.
The organization spearheading the initiative globally, the World Federation of Advertisers (WFA), plans on rerunning this research in 18 months time to measure progress.
