Toronto, February 22, 2024: After more than 20 years at the helm, Ron Lund, President & CEO of the Association of Canadian Advertisers (ACA), has announced his decision to retire at the end of the month (February 2024).

This decision comes with mixed emotions, but after several months of reflection, it became clear the time was right to entrust the leadership of this most venerated organization to another to continue to build the ACA brand in this post-pandemic world“, said Lund.

Over the years, Lund’s contributions to the industry were both numerous and significant. While no means exhaustive, Lund’s achievements include leading many files that vigorously fought to safeguard advertisers’ rights to market their legal products and services in a responsible manner; most notable is his work on ensuring food and beverage companies keep their “license” to advertise their products to adults. He worked tirelessly to secure a transparent and accountable marketplace. And his legacy lives on not only in ACA’s work but through the industry organizations he played a key role in founding, including the Internet Advertising Bureau of Canada (IAB), Sponsorship Marketing Council of Canada (SMCC) and the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada (DAAC).

It is with regret but with our very best wishes that we acknowledge Ron’s well-deserved retirement” said Moya Brown, Chair of ACA on behalf of the Board. “Ron’s leaving marks the end of an era for ACA, and indeed the industry. In the meantime, be assured ACA’s member services and key industry initiatives are all on track and in the capable hands of the ACA team while we make this transition” adds Moya. To help assist in the transition Esther Benzie, past Board member and a highly respected Marketing leader, will join as interim Advisor for ACA until Ron’s successor is announced.
