Ipsos Reid’s ‘Most Influential Brands in Canada’ ranking was released during this week’s Ad Week events and Canadian’s seem to be quite enamored with technology companies. Apple, Microsoft and Facebook sit in the number 4, 3, 2 spots respectively, with Google holding on to the number one spot again this year.
The online survey of 5,000 respondents rated brands in five different areas: presence, trustworthiness, leading-edge-ness, engagement and corporate citizenship. Rounding out the top ten are: Visa at 5, Tim Hortons at 6, YouTube at 7, President’s Choice at 8, Walmart at 9 and MasterCard at number 10.
Two brands that Ipsos described as ‘on fire’ this year were Hudson’s Bay which moved up fully 32 spaces this year in the ranking, and Netflix now showing at number 36.
